i want to feel every moment

and to know that each breath that i breathe

without someone's hand in my own

or another's arms holding me up

is important.

each memory of new life that i keep

like a secret between God and myself only,

these are the photographs i wish to store

in each step that i take

when i do walk beside ones that i love

there are secrets only God and I know.

in moments the world demands sunless silence,

we are children of radiant laughter

told that we should not be,

but who has authority to say?

and the world should know someday

that God is not silent.

we pass whispers to eachother--

and i am eased
